I do look forward to "2014" preferably without the rain!
This years Festival event has been challenging for everyone involved due to the unbelievable amounts of rain received for 4 days straight. However, the volunteer staff and management of the sites were very accommodating, above all you were always greeted with smiles and kind words.
I do look forward to "2014" preferably without the rain!

Tall ships have sailed the oceans and seas of the world for centuries. The first tall ship made landfall on the eastern seaboard of the United States over 400 years ago in 1607 with one notable voyage culminating the exploration of the Chesapeake Bay by John Smith.
From June 8-12 Cape Charles joins in celebrating the commemoration of the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the war of 1812 and the writing of the Star Spangle Banner. Attending this event were featured tall ships Sultana, Lynx and Appledore V, complete with costumed re-enactors. In addition, the USS Zephyr (PC-8) will be on display honoring the role of the Navy from the war of 1812 to modern day. Throughout the weekend you found many different entertainers attending the Tall Ships of Cape Charles to help celebrate, including Picasso face and body painter of Williamsburg VA. |
