What a great day today! Picasso Face and Body Painter drove over to " La Petite Day School" in Williamsburg to volunteered about one hour of our time to face paint . There were some big smiles on the children who attend the school. When I first walked into the building, the children looked with interest as to who I was, and what is she here for. As I began bringing in all my endless supplies of face painting products the low whispers began. When they were informed that Caroline and myself would be face painting them, WOW, the excitement in the room began! One by one they lined up looking at all the designs to choose from, and our task began. It's interesting how one child will choose a design and before you know it you are painting 6 tiger's. Actually, I love painting animals! So we painted dogs, butterflies, dragons, tiger's, and cool designs.
When I was growing up, I had the good fortune to have a stay at home mom dedicated to raising 6 kids. We would entertain ourselves playing together, swimming in our pool, visiting family for cook outs, and having ice cream as our big treat. Simple, but memorable. With both parents working today, life has changed for the children growing up. So, today at La Petite School the children had a special day of face painting.
Next week we will be volunteering at the Goddard School in New Town. My little Neighbor Laurel attends this school and we are very happy to face paint for them.
August 13, take a short ride to beautiful Scotland Neck North Carolina, for the up coming Crepe Myrtle Festival.
Picasso Face Painting will be preforming, creating detailed face paintings for children and adults, free to all that attend. Music performances, great food, lots of activities and fabulous face art! While you are there, come meet the newest member to the team ...Caroline.
